On Friday morning, 19. October, we had to find our way through thick fog. Finally, we arrived with the icon in Baldegg, Lucerne. In the church of the monastery of the sisters of Baldegg vicar Martin Rohrer celebrated with P. Augustin the holy mass which was broadcasted for the listeners of Radio Gloria, thus many people could be reached who did not have the possibility to come to the icon personally.
Without the listeners of the radio we prayed the rosary and had time in silence. People went very close to the icon and held pictures from persons they wanted to bring to Virgin Mary for special intercession at it. At the end, everybody accompanied the icon to the bus to say goodbye.
In the afternoon we brought the icon to Gubel to the convent Mary Help. A small road led us to the convent of the Capuchin sisters. It is situated on a hill with a beautiful panoramic view. The sisters accompanied the icon into the chaple with candles. In the chapel people waited and sang a song to welcome Holy Mary. The sisters organized a very beautiful afternoon and evening with prayers and silence. In the evening, vicar Martin Rohrer from Radio Gloria came to celebrate the holy mass for the pilgrims and the nuns. From 7 p.m. the icon stayed in the chapel of the monastery where the sisters and pilgrims could adore the eucharist and pray to the Mother of God.
We spent the night in a nice hotel in Morgarten where the Swiss fought against the Habsburgs for the first time in the year 1315. Swiss had a very strong desire of freedom and so fought for it. The Swiss were a fierce people. I pray to our Lady of Jasna Gora that we Swiss become such a people again and fight against legal wrong and for the good.
